DJ Exel AKA the “#1 International Party Rocker” is a Pennsylvania native who took a liking to music at a young age after playing with her parents vinyls. Ever since seeing those “giant CDs”, DJ Exel knew music would be her career path and purchased her first set of turntables on her 15th birthday.
Currently residing in the music mecca, Atlanta, GA, DJ Exel DJs in several mainstream nightclubs throughout the city including Compound, Opera, and Mansion. On her days off, she travels to Miami, Ohio, New York, and other cities to rock the crowd!
In addition to spinning in nightclubs, DJ Exel is a co-host at Nuradio Station for a weekly radio show called The Progress Report where she speaks to upcoming and mainstream talent and breaks new records.
DJ Exel has landed opening sets for comedians Deray Davis, Gary Owen, R&B artists Jon B, Genuwine, Dru Hill, Hip Hop artists Fetty Wap, Teyana Taylor, Dej Loaf and has since won Baltimore’s 92Q’s battle for their “Diva of the Mix” competition in 2011, which landed her a guest DJ spot on the station. In the same year she was awarded the Best Mixtape DJ of the Year and nominated for Best Club DJ of the Year at the Central PA Hip Hop Awards (2 years in a row) and was recently named one of the top 20 DJ’s in the U.S. by VH1’s critically acclaimed reality series, Master of the Mix and was a contestant in the show’s third season.
Since then, DJ Exel backed up her “#1 International Party Rocker” moniker as she has completed over two dozen mixtapes and three international tours, spinning in clubs from Hong Kong and Miami’s Karu & Y. DJ Exel was also the featured DJ at the Global Independence Day Celebration at the world renowned Beverly Hilton Hotel.
This is just the beginning of DJ Exel’s evolution as she is working towards creating a household name for herself and defeating all gender stereotypes. Stay tuned “Because She’s A Big Deal!”, as her slogan appropriately states.
